Les Sims 4: Cottage Living Review
After having the opportunity to write the Overview of Sims 4: Cottage Living, I knew it would become one of my new favorite packs. There is just something so charming in being able to live with our sims the rustic farm life in the beautiful city of British inspired, Henford-on-Bagley. Eleventh DLC entry of the series, Cottage Living is the first package focused on agriculture to be published, and it gets almost everything you need.
When you finally moved to the new rural campaign, you can easily buy chickens, cows and lamas by purchasing animal shelters in construction mode. The henhouses can host up to eight hens or cocks. Unfortunately, the cow and lamalass hangar can not shelter only one animal, but fortunately, the game does not prevent us from owning more than one barn at a time.
Take care of your animals is the key here, because the better they are treated, the more the rewards you can use to make delicious recipes or be sold are high. You can converse, play and caress your animals while giving them treats. You can create various goodies for your farm friends, which will increase animal affection and give them some effects. For example, you can feed your cows with vegetables to produce herbal milk or give your chickens from the golden treats to turn them into gold chickens, possibly giving you gold eggs. Taking care of the animals is a novelty in the world of sims, not to mention the creatures themselves who are wonderfully adorable.
In addition to taking care of your furry friends, Cottage Living also offers two new lot challenges. The first challenge, "Simple Living," adds another layer of immersion because you will now have to live as much as possible from the earth. Here you will prepare cooking recipes, but players will have to use cultivated ingredients, picked in the woods or bought on the stalls of the city. The other challenge, "wild foxes", makes the appearance of these little sneaky guys more widespread on your farm. They can often be found that lurge and try to steal eggs in your henhouses as well as fight with rabbits.
There is nothing better than having fresh food at any time of the year! From now on, the Sims can prepare canneds from various jams, sauces, canned, etc. Children can now also help in the kitchen as well as on the farm. I like children to help in the kitchen; The fact that my sims coo do together was so healthy and fun, and in addition to family friendliness, you can take these items and others with you during a picnic. For our most creative Sims, you can now buy hoops to create a range of crosses of different sizes. Depending on size and skills, you can make a decent amount of simoleons on the side or even offer them to this special SIM.
Finchwick, the neighborhood with an air of romance and idyllic charm, is so beautifully arranged that the city really feels alive. The area is large and looks like an open world. You have the pub to go and merchant stalls where you can buy hardware and indispensable ingredients. I was also pleased to see that some of the buildings were interactive. Being able to make windows or changing holding in the buildings is a simple addition and really gives the impression that the city is more lived. You also have Finchwick Fair, where you can compete with other Sims in various pastry or production competitions.
Since agriculture and the various new activities will require a good amount of articles to hold and transport, inventory management becomes a real problem. There is no way to organize anything correctly, and it can make the search for some very painful elements because you have to scroll through the entire page slowly. There are some filters at hand for perhaps you help a little, but it's still not the most user-friendly mechanism.
I talked about it in the overview, but I'm still a little disappointed by Create-A-SIM. I can dress my women at me, but the wardrobe and hairstyle options for men and children's sims still leave a lot to be desired. The global construction / purchase catalog contains very good items, but it still seems that we have not had so many items in this pack only in previous versions.
The world of Henford-On-Bagley is absolutely breathtaking and has such a fairy and whimsical charm. EA really did a great job by capturing the rustic atmosphere of the European campaign. There are some flaws with inventory management and relatively rare wardrobe options, but you can always really enjoy your time on the farm. Because honestly, what better than to be able to cuddle and caress his cows and lamas!
