The former headstation chief reveals the reason to leave Sony
In 2019, the main face associated with the PlayStation brand at that time was to Shawn Layden. Layden, who served as director of Worldwide Studios from 2014, succeeded Jack Tretton and helped lead the company through most of the era of PlayStation 4. However, for one reason or another, Layden announced his departure from brand in 2019 without providing much context about why he was going. Now, after almost two years of starting it, Layden has talked more about his decision to leave Sony. In a new conversation with BloombergLayden he said that he simply felt it was a good time to hand over the reins to someone new PlayStation. It's a youth activity. I felt: this is a good time to put the finishing touches on my legacy, said the former executive.
