FC Bayern: Anatoliy Tymoshchuk due to job in Russia in criticism

FC Bayern became Anatoliy Tymoshchuk Champions League winner, celebrated two German championships and won the DFB Cup twice. Currently the Ukrainian is active as co-trainer of Zenit St. Petersburg - and therefore exposed violent criticism.

According to the attack of Russia on Ukraine, numerous players and coaches of other nations have distanced themselves from their Russian employers and terminated cooperation.

Ukrainians like Andriy Voronin, who worked as a co-coach at Dynamo Moscow, or Zenit-Profi Yaroslav Rakitskiy have long since swept their clubs. Also, the two German coaches Markus Gisdol and Daniel Farken had laid their coaching office with the Russian club Lok Moscow or FK Krasnodar.

Tymoshchuk, however, remains true to his employer, has not yet critical to Russia's invasion of his homeland. For this, the former defensive player was now put to the pillory and criticized violently.

"Tolya, how can that be? You come from Ukraine. How can you be silent and continue working there?" Landsmann Yevgen Levchenko wrote in an open letter to his former teammate.

Levchenko and Tymoshchuk played together for the Ukrainian national team and at Schachtar Donetsk.

"Tolya, how will you live with it?"

Levchenko continued to led in his message: "We played together for the same team, driving this jersey with pride, the hymn sung, won and lost. Are you still quiet? Tolya, how will you live with it?"

Tymoshchuk played for FC Bayern from 2009 to 2013. Then he moved to Zenit St. Petersburg before leaving his career 2015 at FK Qairat Almaty. Since 2016, the 42-year-old co trainer is in St. Petersburg.
